About Pei Team

Justin, Lauren, Paxdin, and Paisley Rees. Candace Swift. Chris and Evie Jones. We are the missionary team to the Pei Tribe Here in PNG.

The Rees Family! (Justin, Lauren, Paisly and Paxdin)
We are a family who want to see Mature Churches raised up in the most Remote Regions of this world. There are over 2500 people groups in this world with distinct languages and cultures, that are totally isolated from and without a Witness of the Truth of Jesus Christ. Even though Jesus Himself said these things to his followers thousands of years ago …

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit”
[Matthew 28:19]

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
[Acts 1:8]

These things have yet to be accomplished by the Church. The Body of Christ. His Followers. Our Goal is to be involved in a realistic and relevant way. SO we go. We are missionaries in Papua New Guinea as Church Planters and Bible Translators. We live in an isolated and remote village called Pefi. We are fully immersed in culture and learning the undocumented language, Pefiyahe!

I was raised in a christian home, and belived in the Lord at a young age- but I didn’t really start seeking and serving Him until my teen years. I was 17 years old when the Lord made it very clear to me that he wanted me to pursue intercultural ministry. I heard about New Tribes a few years later, and after doing some research, I decided that I loved everything that I had learned about the strategy and trajectory of the organization. I began training with them in 2006, and finished in 2010. During training I heard lots about a country named Papua New Guinea, and after some serious prayer, I made the decision to serve there. After all my training, I headed back home to Illinois to begin the long process of fundraising. It took a year and a half to raise necessary funds, but I finally made it to PNG in March of 2012. I am now part of the Pei Team, planting a church among a completely unreached people group.

She’s from Oklahoma. He’s from California.

We met in Michigan, and married a year later (in 2005), and have been missionaries ever since, walking together along this winding road -to eventually reach an unreached people group with the Gospel.

We are thrilled to be part of the church planting team to the Pei tribe, and can’t wait to see the day when the Pei will have God’s Word in their own language, and a self-sustaining expression of the local church in their midst. This has been our passion for the last 10 years, and we’re in love with our Team and our Pei friends!
